Project Overview
We added the finishing touches to this beautiful garden. A secluded garden that had been developed as a retreat for the customer. Her 50th Birthday party was approaching and they wanted an area for family and friends to gather without the hassle of mud. We removed the surface turf and layed the Trulawn Supreme on 60mm of grano. Compacted and levelled. The grass was then placed on a professional weed membrane and fixed all around.
Creating an Event-Ready Garden Retreat
This beautiful Warrington garden had been carefully developed over time as a private retreat and entertaining space. The customer wanted the perfect finishing touch: a clean, mud-free lawn that would be ready to host a significant family celebration. A 50th birthday party was on the horizon, and they wanted their guests to enjoy the garden without worrying about muddy shoes or wet grass.
Ground Preparation and Compaction
The existing natural turf was removed, exposing the soil beneath. We then began the detailed groundwork that ensures long-term performance. A layer of Type 1 aggregate was laid and compacted to form a stable, load-bearing base. On top of this, we spread 60mm of granite dust (grano), which was carefully levelled and compacted to create a smooth, firm surface. This depth of preparation ensures that the grass remains stable and won't develop soft spots or settle unevenly over time.
Premium Grass and Professional Installation
Trulawn Supreme was selected for this project—a premium artificial grass known for its natural appearance and durability. The grass was laid over a professional weed-suppression membrane, which prevents unwanted growth whilst allowing excellent drainage. All seams were sealed using joining tape and adhesive, creating a seamless, natural-looking surface. The perimeter was secured firmly, ensuring the grass stays in place through foot traffic and use.
